Actress Waheeda Rehman Honoured with Special AwardActress Waheeda Rehman Honoured with Special Award Veteran Actress Waheeda Rehman was honored with an exceptional honor for her commitment to the film industry as blinds descended on Yashwant International Film Festival here today.

The “sixth Yashwant International Film Festival-2016,” is a joint venture of Yashwantrao Chavan Pratishthan and Pune Film Foundation.

“This award will dependably be special as I was honored with two chances to meet Chavan sir (Yashwantrao Chavan who was the first chief minister of Maharashtra) in Mumbai and Delhi. Furthermore, when I am presented in this film festival named after him, I truly feel regarded that my work in the most recent 50 years is perceived and being appreciated till today,” Rehman said.

Actress Waheeda Rehman Honoured with Special Award

The festival was organized from January 22 to 28 and around 60-65 movies were screened.While 22 movies were showcased in the class of Global Cinema, 14 in Kaleidoscope, six in Latin America, six in Country Focus, five in Retrospective, other than five Marathi movies and seven movies of Hector Beveko.

Presented the award, NCP MP Supriya Sule said that Rehman always portrayed the role of a dignified lady in her career.”Our generation has grown up listening to Waheedaji’s songs. She has always portrayed the role of a dignified lady  in her movies who fearlessly faces all the problems in life.

Along these lines, she symbolizes each Indian lady who is versatile and intense. The roles played by Waheedaji are continually motivating and thrilling,” she included.
