In Telugu film industry being 30 plus isn’t such a great prospect for heroines. And as was seen in the past very few heroines like Vijayashanti, who managed to stay in the race by concentrating on female oriented cop roles, were able to manage long innings. In recent past Shriya and Trisha too managed to make appearances on and off in selective roles, but it wasn’t a consistent career.
However, in the case of Anushka and even Nayantara, it has been a different ball game. They continue to demand meaty roles and are paid higher remuneration than the younger and popular heroines.
They demand anywhere between Rs2 to 2.5 crore. Especially Anushka is making waves with back to back signing of films in Tollywood. In addition to ‘Baahubali’ and ‘Rudramadevi’, she had proven her passion by acting in ‘Size Zero’ where she ate so much as to look fat, but promptly got back in shsape, ready to sign up some of the best films slated to happen to Telugu film industry.
She is acting in a period drama ‘Bhagmati’ and is also starring opposite Venkatesh in ‘Babu Bangaram’. She has been signed for Chiranjeevi’s 150th film ‘Kathilantodu’. She will be acting with Nagarjuna in the film baba Hathiramji, And, she is also slated to act in Balakrishna’s magnum opus film ‘Gautamiputra Sathakarni’.
She continues to act with younger and senior actors with aplomb and each times goes back with much appreciation. May her tribe flourish!
