Classical dance performance by kids @ Diwali 2013

The Festival of Light, Diwali was celebrated by Telugu Association of Basingstoke(TAB), UK on 10 Nov 2013. Basingstoke Mayor Councillor Dan Putty and Mayoress Julia graced the occasion. Around 150 people from the local area come together for  the celebration.

The event started with lighting of diyas – traditional lamps. The Mayor unveiled TAB’s yearly magazine. Children showcased their talent in arts like classical dance, singing. Mana badi children performed Sri Krishna and Satyabhama scenes from the Hindu epic Mahabharata. At the end, everyone enjoyed a lovely feast of traditional Indian cuisine.
