Brain-dead Person’s heart goes to woman

The city saw an another organ gift on Saturday with the group of 30-year-old Pandit Shivraya Baje giving his indispensable organs. A green passageway was made to transport the giver’s heart from PMSSY Hospital spotted on Victoria Hospital grounds to Yashoda Hospital, Secunderabad. This is the twelfth donation not long from now and the third in the most recent one week.

While this person’s heart will spare the life of a lady in Hyderabad, his different organs will give another lease of life to five others.


The patient was shifted from Fortis Hospital to the administration run super-claim to fame clinic fabricated under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY) for organ recovery.

Nagesh N.S., leader of the transplant group at PMSSY clinic, told The Hindu that the administrator from a town close Sholapur had met with a street mishap on 26 February close Electronic City. He was moved by his employer to Fortis Hospital on Bannerghatta Road, from where he was moved to PMSSY for the organ recovery.

The Zonal Coordination Committee of Karnataka for Transplantation, the nodal org for encouraging organ transplants in the State, concluded the rundown of beneficiaries. While the heart went to Yashoda Hospital, Secunderabad, the liver went to HCG, Bengaluru. One kidney was sent to the State-run Institute of Nephrology and an alternate to St. John’s Hospital. The corneas were given to Lions Eye Bank.
