The new coach of Indian team Anil Kumble is probably going to be a non controversial selection the cricketers sound very positive when they welcome their new coach. One such comment came from Virat Kohli who said he is looking forward to working with the legend.
“Heartiest welcome to @anilkumble1074 Sir. Look forward to your tenure with us. Great things in store for Indian Cricket with you ??” he tweeted.
Among the other contenders for the post Ind been former team director Ravi Shastri, Australians Tom Moody and Stuart Law and a host of others. Kumble was selected based on an elaborate selection process headed by a three-member Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) comprising of Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman.
Among the other cricketers who congratulated Kumble are the retired opener Virender Sehwag, who had been Kumble’s teammate for years reminded the incident when the leg spinner once bowled with a broken jaw in Antigua – “Jumbo news 4Team India. Congrats @anilkumble1074. To have a coach who cud play wid broken jaw wud be an inspiration fr guys in dressing room,” Sehwag tweeted.
Among the several such tweets is left-handed opener Shikhar Dhawan’s – “Congratulations sir @anilkumble1074 on becoming the coach of #TeamIndia! Looking forward to the long season ahead @BCCI.”
