After the Zimbabwe series Dhoni will be on a long break and commenting on it the Indian Captain Mahendra Singh said in his tongue in cheek style how his 15-month-old daughter Ziva misses him and the break will do him good. “I think after a long time, I will take some time off cricket after this series (T20Is). Don’t think my daughter still recognizes me. I will make my daughter feel that I am her dad and spent time with family.”
He was speaking to the press after the successful series. Speaking about the performance of his team he said that he was satisfied with the effort put in by the bowlers. They dismissed Zimbabwe in all the three ODIs – 168 (49.5 overs), 126 (34.3 overs) and 123 (42.2 overs) respectively; the bowlers while limiting the runs paved way for easy chase.
“I don’t mind winning games easily, that’s what you are supposed to do. It would have been nice if a few of the other batsmen would have had a break,” he also said.
Dhoni will be back in action in October for the series against Newzealand.
