Eight-hour work for cops in AP

“The city police model of eight-hour work a day is paying off. The legislature will reproduce the model over the State. It helps in powerful policing,” Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Nimmakayala China Rajappa said here on Sunday.

Tending to an audit gathering of cops, he said the legislature was considering a proposal to fortify the City Police Commissionerate in perspective of its area in the capital locale.


Mr. Rajappa said VIP development in the city had gone up fundamentally in the district after the advertisement of the capital. “To meet crisp difficulties, including movement regulation, more than 100 policemen will be assigned to the commissionerate,” he said.

Police work force from Eluru extent will be corrected to address the city’s necessities. In the later stages, recruitment of police work force and home monitors will be taken up. Expressing that the administration has officially issued wellbeing cards to home monitors, he said: “There are arrangements to update home watches’ compensations.”

Mr. Rajappa, on the other hand, said the administration was yet to choose extending the purview of the commissionerate. “The legislature is pondering bringing some more mandals under the Commissioner’s ward. Comparative proposal for the Guntur Police Commissionerate is likewise pending. The Chief Minister will take an approach it,” he included.

Mr. Rajappa said the legislature had taken genuine note of pending SC/ST abomination cases. A few officers of Additional SP rank will ask into the cases and arrange them of at the most punctual, he said.

The Home Minister said test was on into episodes of pyro-crime in the capital area, including that guilty parties would soon be brought to book.
