Fake currency racket busted

A gang illegally included available for use of fake currency was busted by the Commissioner’s Task Force (South) group on Tuesday. The police seized fake currency with a face estimation of Rs. 4.68 lakh, four cells, and a bike from them.

The group leader Mohd. Ismail (22) of Chandrayangutta and hailing from Uttar Dinachpur locale in West Bengal obtained the fake currency from Pyara Mohammed of Malda in West Bengal. A week earlier Pyara supplied fake cash with a face estimation of Rs. 8 lakh to Ismail, Additional DCP Task Force N. Koti Reddy said.


Ismail brought the fake money to the city and traded Rs. 2.68 lakh with three persons — Haneef, Irfan and Azam here. He took certifiable money of Rs. 48,000 for each one lakh rupees fake notes from the trio, he said.

In view of a tip-off they were gotten at Keshavgiri by the police. Endeavors are being made to secure the principle supplier Pyara Mohamme
