First woman officer leads Guard of Honour at Rashtrapati Bhavan

Wing Commander Pooja Thakur turned into the first lady to lead the stately Guard of Honor which was investigated by the U.s. President Barack Obama at Rashtrapti Bhavan on Sunday.

Wing Commander Thakur has a place with the managerial limb of the Indian Air Force and is at present posted at ‘Disha’, the exposure cell under the Directorate of Personnel Officers at the Air Force Headquarters.


She hails from Rajasthan and is dynamic in para-hopping and endeavor sports.

President Obama got a 21 firearm salute at the forecourt of the Rashtrapati Bhavan and after that met the President Pranab Mukherjee. Leader Narendra Modi and his board of clergymen were likewise show.

Mr. Obama later left for Raj Ghat to pay regards at the Mahatma Gandhi dedication.
