Even while the infrastructure needed for Krishna Pushkaralu is being readied on a war footing. Heavy rains in Telangana has increased the water levels in Krishna river.

In fact due to the release of floodwater from the crest gates of Jurala reservoir is inundating the ghats that are being constructed in the downstream areas of the reservoir near Mahabubnagar. These ghats that are being constructed for Krishna Pushkaralu are being flooded and there is not enough time to find an alternative. Until now, 2 lakh cusecs of water has been released downstream. In addition to the ghats under construction, the temporary changing rooms and toilets being set up on the ghats are being washed away with water.

If the water level continues to increase at this level, then the devotees may face problems including safety issues, and hence the authorities play to build an iron fence that disallows devotees from crossing danger zone. They are currently waiting for the water level to subside to take up any kind of work, however the date for Krishna Pushkaralu is fast arriving and that is the cause of concern.
