Ganga waters to Tirupati

Good news for the residents confronting intense drinking water issue in the temple town of Tirupati. The Chandababu Naidu government has uncovered a system to give a cosmetic touch up to the town rising as a star city in AP with 1.5 lakh LED globules on road lights.

AP Municipal Administration Minister P. Narayana has declared that a second Telugu Ganga pipeline to Tirupati will be laid to meet the developing drinking water needs of Tirupati and Tirumala.


The new pipeline costing Rs.25 to Rs.30 crore would be laid and a second summer stockpiling tank would likewise be constructed under which two 450 HP engines would be introduced at Ramapuram. “At present, Tirupati gets 52 MLD of water against its prerequisite of 65 MLD.” he said.
