Even as a magazine affiliated to ISIS announced that Al Baghdadi is dead, the official US statement is yet to confirm the rumors.
It is reported that a week following the airstrikes that US conducted along with its allied forces, IS Chief Abu Bakr Al Baghdadi has died. However neither the allied forces nor Pentagon has said anything related to this report that was released in a specific few news sites only. In fact in an Iranian news paper there was just the news of Baghdadi having been injured.
Meanwhile conflicting reports are doing the rounds. Al-Amaq, a news agency linked to ISIS – also known as Daesh announced the death of this self-declared caliph, while the US allied spokesman Colonel Chris Garver said military officials had “nothing to confirm this at this time”. An Iraqi security force spokesperson said: “Iraqi aircraft hit Baghdadi’s convoy as it was moving towards Karabia to attend a meeting of the Daesh terrorist leaders, but that just confirms that the IS chief is hit, but in no way states that he is dead.
