The Madras High Court today issued notification to censor board on an appeal seeking to remove “incriminating” dialogs and a few scenes against washermen community in Pandiaraj-directed Tamil film “Kathakali”.

Justice K Ravichanra Babu ordered notification to the CEO of the Central Board of Film Certification among others, looking for their answer inside of a week.

Petitioner K P Manibaba of Tamilnadu Vannar Peravai, an body of washermen, guaranteed a few dialogs in the film were against his community, which was already an oppressed community, and brought on mental stress to them. He sought court direction to evacuate the dialogs and scenes that were condemning of the washermen community.
