He was so much enamoured by the concept of the film, ‘Okka Ammayi Thappa’ where two strangers are stranded in a traffic jam over a flyover as the time bomb is ticking away to explode that Sundeep Kishan decided to forgo his remuneration for the film. Even his co-star Nithya Menen decided to go for a huge cut in her fees so that the director Rajasimha Tadinanda would not have to compromise on anything while making the film.
It was a perfect example for passion for good cinema, as the people involved liked the story so much that they did not want the quality of the film to suffer in any way for want of funds. So apparently cinematographer Chota K Naidu too worked for free for the film, on which the entire crew have placed their hopes.
The genesis of the story happened many years ago in Hyderabad on Moosapet flyover when the director was stuck for two hours. The entire story pans out in 24 hours, and the team hopes that the film will set a new benchmark in Telugu film industry. The film was shot for a few days on Gachibowli flyover before shiftingto a huge set. ‘Okka Ammayi Thappa’ will release on June 10.
