Rita has been a member of the Communication Workers of America local 3204 for 36 years. She was a Senior Shop Steward for 15 years. Rita was the first president of the AT&T Georgia Diversity council. As the (CWA) Communication Workers of America) Educational Alliance Chairperson at Avaya Rita worked to secure the training for which the Avaya Service Technicians in Georgia became the first company trained Technicians certified in NET Plus and Cisco. Rita served as the CWA chairperson for safety in the field and in the workplace, implementing the first on work site Lactation Room dedicated solely for new mothers to express milk while at work.
