Modi makes it clear that it is strengthening of BJP in Telangana state which is the main objective of his visit to the state – first time, two years after the formation of a new state. After the customary speeches and inaugurations and congratulations to the State machinery (he called Telangana CM Apara Bhagirathudu for aiming to bring water to each house hold and also did not leave the opportunity to re-emphasise that K Chandrasekhara Rao emulated the Gujarat model) – he made way to Lal Bahadur Stadium, which saw the BJP cadre with renewed energy cheering their leader.
He got back to his fiery mode and said that he sees a great future for the party in Telangana. He encouraged the party men to repeat Assam. He openly expressed his desire to see BJP emerge as the part in power or atleast strengthen to be the major opposition party in the state. ‘Sab ka saath sab ka vikas’ was his clarion call when he made it clear that the party has to reach out to the masses and backward classes. ‘Waar karna hai tho mujhpe keejiye mere gareeb bhaiyon pe nahi’ – he said and urged for protecting Dalits. In a way he set the stage for 2019 elections for BJP in Telangana State.
