Young wrestler who was all set to enter Rio Olympics, Narsing Yadav, failed the dope test that may as well dash his dreams to a point of no return. It was not an easy to gain a berth in Olympics for Narsing. He had to fight a case against Sushil Kumar who thought he had a better claim to the entry into Rio. He won the case and was busy practicing, getting ready to travel to Rio for the Olympics. However, unfortunately he failed in the tests conducted by NADA, and is temporarily suspended, and his chances of going to Rio are turning bleak by the minute.
Even though Narsing complains of being subjected to some kind of conspiracy, NADA Director General Naveen Agarwal called the allegations baseless. He said that it is true that he had failed to pass the dope test and he was tested positive for the steroid Methandienone. The drug is known to increase the muscles within short span of time. In fact it is in the hands of NADA that will decide if it will ban Narsing Yadav for the main games or not. However, experts say that there is no chance of his return. Earlier there was a tussle between Sushil Kumar and Narsing on who will go to Rio. Now if Narsing’s ban will demerit him from Rio Olympics, there is no chance for Sushil to go as last date for entries was July 18. We will be wasting India’s slot in the 74 kg category.
