The railways have introduced the new train between Vijayawada and Secunderabad for the benefit of government employees who will be shifting from Hyderabad to Andhra Pradesh.
The special superfast train will be flagged off by railway minister Suresh Prabhu on July 20 at 8.30 pm from Vijayawada station. It is a day train and hence will not have any berths. The 14-bogie train will have two seating cum luggage rake, two AC chair cars and 10 non-AC chair cars.
The super fast train will cover the distance in 5.5 hours and will have only single halt at Guntur. The train will stop at Guntur for only 2 minutes. It will leave Vijayawada at 5.30pm everyday and will reach Secunderabad station at 11.10pm. In return journey it will leave Secunderabad station at 5.30 am and reach Guntur at 11am.The train will not operate on Sundays.
Many AP employees are shifting to Vijayawada in the next coming days and many are leaving their families behind, this special train hopefully will provide some respite considering the frequent travel that they need to make. However, the already busy route may need more than one additional train to help the increase in the rush.
