It has been decided that henceforth at the Consulate General of India, Atlanta, applicants applying for OCI cards can submit notarized affidavit in place of original supporting documents. The notarized affidavit should state that the originals of the self-attested copies of the supporting documents are with the applicant and can be produced for verification if required by the Consulate while processing the OCI application. If any applicant is not able to provide copies of the supporting documents due to whatsoever reason then he/she will have to provide originals along with OCI application. Prescribed sample affidavit in this regard may be seen along with instructions for OCI cards on the Consulate’s website.
