Pension at doorstep scheme launched

The dispersion of social security pension through business correspondence of banks was launched  at the Burma Sitarmaiah School in 23rd and 24th divisions in the city on Thursday. This is the first occasion when that Aadhaar empowered pension payment is being executed in the nation.

Muncipal Commissioner G. Veerapandyan formally propelled the new framework. While there were 33,470 retired people in the city, 5,088 pensioners would be secured under the pilot venture. Upwards of 264 pensioners in the 23rd division and 529 retired people in the 24th division would get benefits at their doorstep. Remaining retired people, on the other hand, would keep on getting benefits through post offices. The new administrations would be reached out to all retired people quickly, he said.

Andhra Bank Deputy General Manager G.S.V. Krishna Rao said that 47 business correspondence in Vijayawada Urban, Machilipatnam Urban and Rural, and Penamaluru would extend their service to the recipients. At the appropriate time course, the aggregate number of correspondence would be expanded to 150, he said.
