Moved by the situation of retired people in acquiring their benefits, the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) has chosen to make things helpful for them by starting installment of monthly pensions at the doorsteps of recipients from April 1, in the city.
Under a pilot extend, the city has been recognized by the State Government for dispensing of Social Security benefits at the doorstep of qualified recipients under the NTR Bharosa Scheme.
The detriment confronted by retired people in getting pensions hit the features in the city as of late, after three recipients passed on while holding up for their turn at the annuity circulation focuses and post offices in December last.
