President Pranab Mukherjee Thursday mourned the demise of film maker Daggubati Ramanaidu, saying the film business has lost an innovative identity who left a permanent stamp on Indian silver screen.
“I am saddened to learn about the passing away of Daggubati Ramanaidu,” Mukherjee said in a condolence message to Daggubati’s wife Rajeshwari.
“Ramanaidu was a parliamentarian and acclaimed film maker. His commitment to the Indian film industry, particularly Telugu silver screen, was perceived by the country through the Dada Saheb Phalke Award in 2009 and the Padma Bhushan in 2012,” he included.
