Finally better sense seems to have prevailed, if reports that the much loved beti of Congress, Priyanka Gandhi may take a direct hit in 2019 General Elections by aggressively campaigning in Uttar Pradesh, and even contesting elections from Amethi. All it needs to be done is for Rahul to shift to Rae Baraeli, after all how does it make a difference if it is Amethi or Rae baraeli – both are Congress’s only claim to faithful voters.

However, they are still reports based on what a few senior Congress leaders shared with some media, but nothing has been openly declared. But for the periodic rumours that Priyanka Gandhi may be the elusive arrow in the armour that will bail out Congress party from its worst ever crisis, there is no concrete/official statement from the family or the party.

She is fiery, intense, intelligent and has the ability to remind people of her grandmother Indira Gandhi, however if she, and when she will agree to take active role, she will be faced with several challenges; the prominent among them being Rahul Gandhi who has this uncanny skill to always land in trouble, and her husband Robert Vadra who is better known for his shady land deals, and is no less than his brother in law when it comes to opening his mouth only to say something controversial. Both are enough ammunition that the opposition will need to get back at the aura that Priyanka will create around her.
