It is almost a week after Anil Kumble was appointed the new coach of Indian cricket team, one of the aspirants Ravi Shastri who was never known to have taken a failure in the right spirit, and believed that Sourav Ganguly’s absence affected his selection and said so in his own style and said that Ganguly was disrespectful by not being present at the time of his interview. On Wednesday, Sourav Ganguly, who was one of the members of the BCCI’s Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) — hit back at Ravi Shastri’s claims. He said that he felt saddened and surprised at Shastri’s personal attack on him and thought his words were said with little knowledge of the entire scenario at the time of the interview.
“I am extremely surprised and saddened on the comments of Ravi Shastri. It was already previously decided that I will attend the CAB working committee meeting on the day of these coach elections,” he shared in one of his interviews.
He also said – “If Ravi Shastri thinks he isn’t the coach due to of my absence, he is living in a fool’s world,” the CAB chief said.
