When all the eyes are on Nadal pulling out of the series and the other top players gradually making their way up the ranks during the French Open, India looks at top seeds Sania Mirza and her partner Martina Hingis, who have so far been a promising duo on the French Open arena.
Sania and Hingis displayed some amazing strokes as they battered the partnership of the Japanese team Nao Hibino and Eri Hozumi in straight sets 6-2, 6-0 during the second round of Women’s Doubles in French Open. During the first set Sania- Hingis quickly rose upto 4-1, when the Japanese duo dd manage to grab a game, but to no avail as the Indo-Swiss partnership pulled it off at 6-2. The two looked even more confident when they took the second set with a 6-0 and grabbed the match with a lead of 2-0.
Earlier, Leander Paes and Rohan Bopanna easily sailed into Men’s Doubles third round along with their partners, Polish player Marcin Matkowski and Florian Mergea respectively.
