Shakib becomes first Bangladeshi to score 4,000 ODI runs

Shakib Al Hasan Wednesday turned into the first Bangladesh batsman to score 4,000 runs in One-Day Internationals (ODIs).

The left-hand batsman reached the mile-stone in their World Cup opener against Afghanistan at the Manuka Oval here, The top all-rounder is nearly trailed by opener Tamim Iqbal who has amassed 3,990 runs in 136 ODIs.Bangladesh were battling when Shakib, playing his 142nd ODI, came in at five requiring 23 more rushes to achieve the 4,000-run mark.


He cut medium pacer Aftab Alam towards the leg side in his 26th conveyance to sign up for the club with a limit.
