Amit Shah in a bid to expand BJP’s reach has been speaking a a few places in AP and Telangana. He recent public meeting at Suryapet where he claimed that Rs 90,000 crore were allotted to Telangana in the last two years came under much fire from TRS leaders.
It was not just Telangana government, the Congress party that came down with hammers and tongs at Amit Shah asking his to give details of when and how the money has been given and accused the BJP leader of misleading the people.
State Finance Minister Eatala Rajender said that, in reality the centre has only given Rs 30,000 crore and is yet to release its share of taxes to the tune of 7000 crore. Even the money allotted was part of a routine that every state gets, and it was not given as any special case for a new state, he clarified. As per the AP re-organisation act the centre has promised to allocate funds, but nothing came. The welfare schemes that TRS government is implementing like Mission Bhagiradha and Mission Kakatiya were being done from its own funds, he shared.
