State gets Rs. 330 crore for rural electrification

The efforts of the State government in guaranteeing power scope to all got a real fillip with the Union Power Ministry authorizing Rs. 330 crore under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana.

Union Minister of State for Power Piyush Goyal gave over the sanction letter to State Minister K. Atchannaidu amid a meeting of the Power Ministers held in Guwahati on Thursday. Mr. Atchannaidu joined by Energy Secretary Ajay Jain went to the meeting in the interest of the State government.


The giving over of the letter denoted the authorization of the first venture to the State under the Yojana went for zap of 6.83 lakh family units including 4.32 lakh BPL families, charge of 1,031 residences and serious zap of 19,460 homes.
