Sunrisers qualifier

Backed by the strength of the bowling line, Sunrisers Hyderabad checked the Kolkata Knight riders in time during the do or die qualifier on Wednesday at Ferozeshah Kotla, New Delhi.

Sunrisers lost the toss and came into bat first. After the initial two boundaries Shikar Dhawan bite the dust, however Henrix along with the other opener and Captain of the team, Warner built up the score before the promising partnership was broken by Kuldip Yadav, who simultaneously took both their wickets pushing Hyderabad back into trouble.

It was then that Yuvraj and Deepak Hooda took on the mantle to save the team. Yuvi managed to get close to the half-century mark before his ball hit the wickets in the 19th over. When it looked like Hyderabad may not even reach 150, it was the bowlers who scored the next few runs and managed a decent figure of 162.

It was again the bowlers who took on the task of limiting the runs Kolkata could make. The Knight riders played all the overs and managed to only 140 runs at 8 wickets giving away the match to Hyderabad. Henrix, in addition to making 31 runs in 21 balls (2 sixes included) took 2 wickets, and was chosen as the Man of the Match.

This was the first win of Sunrisers against Kolkata in this series, and with this the team enters the Qualifier 2 with Gujarat Lions on Friday.
