In a bid of thankfulness for helping him through Rajyasabha elections, Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu, who was elected from Rajyasabha from Andhra Pradesh showered various sops on the state.
Promising to help in connecting Amaravathi to the rest of India, he said high speed trains will be introduced – one linking Bengaluru to Amaravathi and another one in Kolkata – Chennai route linking Amaravathi. He also said that AP could be a flight transport hub that links airports and ports with a rail link.
CM had a long list of wishes that he presented whjich included an introduction of MMTS, a railway line linking Guntu, Vijayawada via Amaravathi, a high speed train linking remote Rayalaseema to the capital city among others. The Railway minister promised to speed up work on pending projects and said that 21 railway stations in the state would be modernized. However he was non committal on the special railway zone with Viskhapatnam as the centre.
