Responding to Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sherif’s comments that Kashmir will one day be a part of Pakistan, External Affiars Minister Sushma Swaraj expressed displeasure. She said that Jammu and Kashmir belonged to India and the neighboring country cannot make this heaven on earth a haven for terrorists.
Nawaz Sherif made the statement after his party won the elections in POK (Pak Occupied Kashmir). Sushma Swaraj said Pakistan is perpetrating terror activities through Hafiz Saeed and other terrorists in an area which is integral part of India. She added, “A country which used fighter planes and artillery against its own people has no right whatsoever to point a finger against our security forces.”
“The whole of India would like to tell Prime Minister of Pakistan that this dream will not be realized even at the end of eternity. The whole of Jammu and Kashmir belongs to India,” she reaffirmed.
While it is not the first time that Pakistan’s political leaders tried gaining political mileage from their comments against India, this time Nawaz Sherif made a 360 degree turn after his meetings with Modi and promises of cordiality, when he repeatedly gave statements against the killing of Burhan Wadi, and in support of the separatists in Kashmir. The elections in the Pak Occupied Kashmir region too must have been the reason for the over enthusiastic comments by the Pakistan premier.
