TAMA Atlanta Grand Galore Sankranthi Festivities

TAMA (Telugu Association of Metro Atlanta) celebrated Sankranthi on Jan 18 at Norcross High School in a grand gala way, with around 1450 Atlantans. Shoora Investments, Sakranti Restaurant, Magnum Opus IT and My Tax Filer jointly sponsored this mega event. More than 60 ladies participated in Rangoli competition. Around 240 kids were part of GlobalArt’s Art Competition and The Young Leaders Academy’s Public Speaking Contest. All the winners got prizes.

Community Services Secretary SaiRam Karumanchi invited everyone to the event and told about different programs. He invited TAMA EC and Board for lighting holy lamp, which marks beginning of events. Chief guest Lohith Kumar enthralled the audience with his mesmerizing Mimicry, Jokes and everyone travelled with him throughout the program. He also mentioned about TAMA programs related to Clinic, Education, Entertainment, Knowledge, Charity, Help, Seminars, Service, Cultural, Literary, Sports and Games, at different times. Performances by Local Atlanta talent in devotional Songs, Shlokas, Traditional Dances, Medleys, Dramas, filmy Songs etc. kept audience spellbound. Cultural Secretary Rupendra Vemulapalli handed Appreciation Certificates to all the Participants.


President Bharath Maddineni, Board Chairman Rajasekhar Chunduri introduced new TAMA team, thanked and conveyed Sankranthi wishes to all the spectators. Bharath emphasized TAMA’s commitment to help and serve Telugu people and touched some finer aspects of TAMA past and present. Rajasekhar provided details of Free Clinic, Telugu School, Scholarships, Seminars, Life Member Benefits and recent TAMA’s eligibility for US Presidential Volunteering.

TAMA team admired Event Sponsors, Shoora Investments, Sakranti Restaurant, Magnum Opus IT and My Tax Filer for their commitment and support. TAMA team also elaborated what our Sponsors do and how they can be useful. Sponsors Hari Prasad Salian and Suresh Dhulipudi were applauded and felicitated on the stage. They mentioned about their company activities, their relationship with TAMA and appreciated various initiatives.

Chief guests and Tollywood singers, Damini and Dhanunjay captivated audience with their songs and words. Kids and adults are equally enchanted, many were seen dancing. Best thing is, they even went into audience, made them dance and relish every bit of it. TAMA team appreciated and felicitated chief guests.

TAMA’s ‘Go Green’ initiative is an enormous shift, which avoided a lot of plastic usage. All Dinner Cutlery is echo friendly, including water cups. Ladies and Kids were seen at many Shopping stalls and free Mehendi. People were talking about different things like, facilities provided are the best, event should have continued for some more time, Stage decoration reminds movie settings, Photo Booth was traditional, Sankranthi Restaurant’s food is splendid and so on. Even though it is a big school, Parking was not available at peak time. Hall was full and many were standing till the end.

President Elect Innaiah Yenumula concluded the program by thanking all the fascinating Onlookers, Sponsors, Chief Guests, Artists, School Management, Video and Stage Support Byte Graph, Photography Ravikumar Vaddamanu, Niranjan, TV5 Praveen Puram, participating Atlanta Music and Dance Schools, Rangoli and Raffle Sponsors, Lucky Charms Decorators, Volunteers Vinay Gopisetty, Srinivas Lavu, Ramesh Palem, Uday Kambhampati, Priya Balusu, Subbarao Maddali, Raj Kiran Moota, Sravanthi Kovela, Venkat Thota, Ravi Yelisetty, Suresh Dhulipudi, Anjaiah Chowdary Lavu, Anil Yelamanchali, Murali Boddu, Mallik Medarametla, Venky Gadde, Harsha Yerneni, Srini Peddi, Ram Maddi, Gowri Karumanchi, Naresh Yelkoti, Sridhar Paladugu, Teja Vemuri, Mahesh Koppu, Ramesh Meda, Suneel Kanth Devarapalli, Vinay Maddineni, Mahi Nimmagadda, Reema Boddu, Romit Chunduri, Aneesh Rudraraju for making Sankranthi event a thumping success.
