More than two lakh fisherman from six regions are on a strike since the previous evening in Tamil Nadu, demanding that 75 of their angling pontoons be recovered from Sri Lanka. The anglers who went on yearning strike on Republic Day at Nagapattinam said that there was no reaction from the government and they were compelled to turn to strike.

Then, anglers from Nagapattinam, Ramanathapuram, Pudukottai, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Puducherry and Karaikal have chosen not to wander out into the ocean. The fisherman say that their job is being hit gravely as their fishing boats are lying unmoving in Lanka and they included that around 18 fishing boats crafts that were confined by Sri Lanka have been completely damaged.

Prior, Sri Lanka had released 102 Tamil anglers held up in Lankan correctional facilites as positive attitude signal a week ago. However the angling water crafts of Tamil anglers were not released as obstacle measure.
