Toronto Telugu Association Elects New Body for 2014

Dec 22 Toronto: A new body has been unanimously elected for Telugu Cultural Association of Greater Toronto (TCAGT) at its general body meeting held in North York at Pleasant view Community Centre, 545 Van Horne Ave North York, Ontario, Canada on December 21, 2013.

The election officer Vijaya Rao Bobbili  has announced the following committee after scrutiny of nominations:

2) Secretary   Sailaja Payidiparty
3) Treasurer   Sirisha Gadepalli
4) Director   Himabindu Yeso
5) Director   Sailaja Vutukuru
6) Director   Radhika Baishya
7) Director   Kalyani Bottu
8) Youth Director   Akhila Rachakonda
9) Youth Director   Harika Kalluri

Secretary Surya Bezawada welcomed the guests and provided the report to the Annual General Body meeting on the yearlong events that attracted huge attendance of Telugu Community in Toronto. He appreciated the current executive members for their collaborative efforts in bringing more members, sponsors and innovative ideas to finish strong in financial results to the association.

Treasurer Rajasekhar Jarabandi has presented annual accounts report and provided enough details to the constructive questions from the members. He has also presented the check for life members collected in 2013 to the Board of Trustees.

Chairman Board of Trustees Prema Jyothi Bobbili appreciated and applauded the dedicated efforts of the current executive committee on mobilizing huge funds to organize mega events as well as to the Trust Fund.

The president elect Anitha Bezawada thanked the current executive committee and all the members of the association for her election as the president to serve the community in the year 2014. It was a proud moment for me to get elected as a female president to TCAGT after nine years of huge gap. Telugu Association elected not only the president, but also the office bearers, executive directors and youth directors, all are females. Indeed our committee made an historic mark of Women Power in the history of TCAGT and I strongly believe in the history of any Telugu association in North America.  Above all, it is a recognition, and appreciation from the community for all the efforts of females in the eve of Silver Jubilee celebrations year of TCAGT. She informed that her commitment and promise is take the association into the next level with all the Executive Committee, Trustees and members support.

The Secretary elect Sailaja Payidiparty in her message informed that she is excited to bring new talent and members to the association. My commitment is to support president and other directors to bring their best to the Telugu Association.

The Treasurer elect Sirisha Gadepalli has called upon the members of the association to focus on help increasing the memberships in 2014.

The members of new executive committee Mrs Himabindu Yeso, Mrs Sailaza Vutukuru, Mrs. Radhika Baishya and Mrs. Kalyani Bottu were also spoke on the occasion and thanked members for this amazing opportunity to serve the Telugu Community.

Trustees Purnachandra Rao Vajha and Koti Avavari helped in organizing AGM. Prabhu Kundurpi helpled in serving Snacks, Tea and Coffee to all the members. Srinvas Sastry Gadepalli recorded the minutes of meeting.

Secretary Surya Bezawada congratulated the newly elected power team and presented the vote of thanks. Called the Annual General Meeting to adjournment.
