The damp reviews notwithstanding Super star Rajinikanth’s Kabali continues to do well in theatres across the world, as fans revel in the Rajini mania. The initial euphoria that gripped the audience on the first day followed through the weekend, tickets continued to be in demand and those who managed to watch the film were smiling from ear to ear at their good luck to have managed to get the tickets.
For the fans who watched ‘Kabali’ at in Virginia’s Cinemark movie theatre in Fairfax it was double whammy. The Superstar himself, flanked by his daughter Aishwaryaa R Dhanush, walked in wearing a formal brown shirt and trouser to watch the film. It was a special screening and when Rajini walked in the stunned audience rose to their feet in excitement. During the screening a young girl shared her popcorn with the megastar.
It was indeed a memorable fan moment for the audience specially arranged by his daughter. And the audience who broke into a standing ovation didn’t stop for a while.
The film released in over 12000 screens across India. ‘Kabali’ also had a release in UK and Malaysia, in addition to 450 screens in the US and Canada. On the opening day the film collected $2.7 million dollars in India and recovered the cost in the US.
