Swamy Rajan

In addition to calling one of the most respected economist holding the respectable post as RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan mentally nor fully India, Subramanian Swamy broke all decorum by alleging that Rajan has leaked sensible Reserve Bank information, and this calls for immediate attention from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It is a serious allegation that cannot be made without any basis and can call for a breach of law, and when proved baseless, can lead to major political turmoil.

Swamy’s allegation that Rajan’s trips to US and that his renewal of Green card is against norms is pure rubbish. Raghuram Rajan is a professor on leave from Chicago University and there is no rule that he cannot renew his green card.

Rajan’s comments on Intolerance fall under the purview of right to speech and Swamy’s comments against them hold no value. They can only create more discontent, if nothing else. Similar are his allegations made out of the blue that Rajan favours Chidambaram’s son.

Yet again, how can we hold any importance to a man like Subramanian Swamy, who despite being an economist has made it a habit of making illogical statements without backing them up with evidence, just for the effect.
